woah

woah, i can't believe the last time i blogged was in aug! =o well, i'm still at govt and didn't get the hbos job.. coz i totally stuffed up the interview ill-prepared.. serves me right... but i guess it's also a good thing i didn't get it coz bankwest got bought over haha =p so many things happened since i last blogged...

-> j-san went back to taiwan with her big mammal... so it's been quiet around the house. luckily oppa + lil k are around to keep me company ;)

-> elmo is currently at our place... wooo wooottt!!

-> dad was here for a WHOLE month, for mum's birthday and 1-year. can't believe how fast the time has flown by...sometimes it still feels rather surreal that mum's gone... :~( but this time, when dad came back..... totally different feeling. he's friendlier, more chatty and i also have more things to talk to him about. i think 1-month was the right amount of time haha anything more, i think dad would've gone crazy =p but i have to say, it was really nice to have dad around.

-> had to send my digi cam into repair!!! i was taking some close-up photos and then the lens wouldn't retract and it just got stuck!! but it got fixed in time for yokey's birthday drinks.. and now it allows me to turn 'macro' on!!! no wonder it didn't work before... luckily still had warranty!

-> we have also finished attending weddings for the year... i hope!! far out, attending weddings can be an expensive exercise! but feeling all the love in the air makes it all worth while.. =)

Time is flying by...

Woah, I haven't updated for awhile!

Now.. just waiting by the phone for the recruitment people from HBOS to call. Was meant to be 10.30am on Friday but yesterday they had a sudden change to their schedule so had to do it 8am this morning.

Damn... the earliest I've woken up for awhile!!!!! I dunno how I'm going to cope if I have to go back to 8.30am start!!!

So now.. still waiting...

Quite nervous about it because never done anything like this... a phone interview? Woah haha They're going to ask behaviourial and competency questions.. I asked yesterday whether they have a list of questions they're going to ask available, I got a very polite "no" haha At least I tried tee hee

Wedding was beautiful. We were a bit late to the ceremony because of traffic and we were just running late from the shopping haha But we managed to see the vows and the kiss =) hehe

The photography was amazing.. so was the videography. They filmed and edited in one day! Can you believe that??? And they also had LIVE photograph transmission! So they take a photo, and then it's showing on the screen!!! Mannn! We even got a little photo to take away! I was almost crying when I saw the video of Daz seeing Col for the first time in her wedding dress. His facial expression said it all.. awwwwww!!!

The after-party in the newly weds' room.. was by quite quickly coz Daz was smashed within 1 hour haha He almost finished a bottle of cognac!!! He was sooo huggy and he kept on thanking everyone. At least 5 times haha

Jel + I got our hair done for the wedding dinner. I brought my own ironing clip but after trying to do it for the Sat wedding ceremony, I thought it was best to leave it to the pros haha It was not bad.. SGD27.. I was very happy =P 1 hour of pampering.. mmm Our hotel was grand too!! It was convenient as well because it was like literally 5 mins walk from the wedding dinner hotel.. very happy =)

Apart from celebrating the happy wedding.. Jel + I also did some shopping and sight seeing. Mostly Orchard Rd & Clarke Quay haha It was such a blast! Chuksta & wifey were there too and they were kind enough to take us around! Mingle with the locals =) We went to ChinaTown (which wasn't that much fun because went during the day) and then Suntec to see the fountain of wealth to make wishes (I don't think I was wishing for anything when I was walking around it 3 times.. I was just playing with the water haha)...

Great memories were created on this trip....

2. First wedding overseas
3. First visit to Asia for Jel
4. First after-party in newly weds' bedroom
5. First visits to the nightlife in an Asian country
6. First shopping trips on Orchard Rd's department stores!!
7. First huge purchase (in my opinion!) with my own $$ haha The digi cam =P

Ahhhhh it was such a great trip.. Felt longer than 4 days coz we did SOOO much! But it was really enjoyable =)

This weekend, we decided to cook a feast for my high school friend + hubby. Oppa & I trawled through Marie Claire recipe books and we picked our 3-course meal (with assistance from K of
course). It turned out rather well!

Menu for the night:
Lamb skewers with mint & yoghurt
Chicken Pie with Polenta
Waffles

Good huh? Sounded good.. and it turned out great too! Oppa & I were very proud of ourselves =) My friend + hubby were impressed too tee hee Not a bad turn out for 2 non-cooks!! Of course, we had to take photos hehe

On Fri night... Oppa took me to Darlington Estate! It was sooo nice there.. a bit cold! But the food was great and they had live jazz! Piano with Bass.. awesome!!!
Then.. we went to Northbridge to look for karaoke places. Just the 2 of us ;-P But no places!! They were all booked! We gave up and drove home.. but on the way home, we saw Es & Nam walking! I called and they were on the way to karaoke session for Ham! Awesome!!! So we gate crashed haha
We really did gate crash coz we didn't know about it.. I felt a bit bad but oh well!! We had a lot of fun, we ended up staying up until 3am! I suffered the next day though for my 9am facial appointment.. *yawn* My face feels so clean and soft now... after I dehydrated it from all the alcohol I've consumed in the past few weeks!! tee hee =P Anyway - it was a good night out and good to hang with the gang again.

2nite, Oppa + I went to see Miss Pettigrew Lives for A Day... got free passes from Aroma Cafe (woot woot!) It was a nice movie.. very sweet and touching. Both of us cried! hehe Definitely worth watching!

It felt like I had a bit weekend.. I probably did... esp my liver took a bashing =P

Then next week, it's Singapore!!! Woot Woot!!! Can't wait!! =)

Welcome Back Angie!

Angie came back!

Only for a short while.. but it was still good to see her rather than chatting to her on MSN =)

J + I met up with her on Thurs and we took her to Table 78 (quite good food) and then visited the new bar 1907. That was not bad either!!! Though I didn't really enjoy my expensive martini.. don't think I'm a martini kinda girl! haha

Then on Sat.. organised a party session at Burswood. We didn't stay in Ruby Room as long as I would've liked though =( People just didn't seem like to be in a dancing mode!! Boo hoo. They were more keen to check out MINQ which I'm alright with but we ended up staying there for the whole night! Boo hoo.

I still had a good time in MINQ though. The drinks were delicious! Worth the money =) I had Mojito and Cosmo. The Cosmo was SOO yummy! Did not feel the alcohol at all. I would have that again! Definitely a lot better than the one I had in Universal Bar.. that was like.. a put off! I was thinking to myself - why do Sex n City girls like to drink those? haha =P

Blast from the Past

I was sooooo excited last week coz I bumped into my childhood piano teacher on the bus on the way home!

I stepped on the bus and I heard this "Cindy!"

Looked up.. and there she was!!! I was totally stoked because I've always wondered if she was still at the same address or if she was still around Perth!!!

Well, she is! Woot woot!

It was so nice to talk to her again.. She was like my favourite teacher and she treated me really well. She's still teaching piano.. and I had to tell a little fib that I am still playing too haha I said that I play when I am feeling stressed, to which Oppa + J-san replied in sync "which is hardly ever".

Grr!

Anyway - it was soo nice to see her. I told her about mum and shed a little tear.

Another thing happened this week, we sold off mum's car. No one was driving it and it was taking up garage space (leaving my poor little buggy out in the rain) so it was for the best that we sold it off. Paying for it was getting expensive too.

It was kinda another reality hit that mum is not around anymore. Sometimes we forget that mum has left us... but that's only for a split second... *bawl*

Long weekend this week.. WOOT WOOT! What to do what to do? Want to go out..
