Wellllll I've waited for a YEAR for this wedding!! hehehe Ever since Charles called me last year in April, I have been hanging out to go.. I know it will be posh and it'll be extravagant! =) And it definitely lived up to my expections ahha Thanks Charles for inviting me to be part of this amazing celebration of your union!! =)
The day started at 10am for us.. Alex and I rushed over to the church (luckily we weren't late). It was such a touching ceremony. Charles selected all the typical (but good) wedding songs. Canon in D Major for the bridal procession, Ave Maria for the signing of certificate to Wedding March to the bride and groom exit! There were live singers, they even composed a song especially for the wedding!! The song was sung during the bit where the bride & groom thank the parents. It was really touching *sniffles*
After the wedding, went out to Spencer Village with family. We ate and came home and just clonked out. We were supposed to do work but didn't end up doing it.. too tired! :O Have no idea why we were buggered! Soooo I woke up at 5.30pm and I went "CRIPERS!" the reception starts at 6.30 and Charles told me to get there early! haha So I rushed around and tried to get Alex to wake up as well.. I was all ready to go and then Judy said "Cindy, what's wrong with your hair? Come here.." So.. my darling sister (muah muah!) re-did original unfortunate looking hair hehe Alex made the comment "It's amazing how much difference hair can make" PHOAARRR!!! I almost smacked him ahha But I know he doesn't mean it THAT way =)
So ended up leaving my house at 6.30 :O Luckily the venu was close to my house.. Burswood Grand Ballroom!!! WOAH!!!!! My first time at the venue.. last time was just a brief walk in and walk out for MSU ball back in uni!! hehe
The wedding photos were at the reception desk for us to see and it was soooo regal!! It was shot in Jakarta and it protrayed a very warm and cozy image of the couple to us =) Very nice indeed!! Then met up with Chee and his uni group outside. And guess what?!??! MBA class mate was there too! Talk about small world!! AND another guy knew Alex!!!! Later on, I realised another guy was Evan's high school friend, he flew in from Melbourne especially for the wedding!!! Gawrsh!!!! Such a small world!!!!!
The table setting was cool, we all had a gift. It was a fan! And it had engraving on there with Charles and his wife's name hehe Soo neat!!
So we had nice red and white wine... each of us also had champagne for toasts. After the bridal waltz we were allowed on the dance floor hehe Alex & I joined in and gosh we sucked. He stepped on me toes a few times too! But I have commend him for his efforts.. he saw some old couples doing some steps and he quickly imitated them. Pretty good *huggles* Had fun dancing.. hehe We were thinking, oh should go learn some kind of dancing together so we won't be so shameful next time, but how often do we get invited to one of these weddings?! Like never again! haha Anywho, didn't dance for long though because rest of the night was filled by floor entertainment, yes.. professional ballroom dancers!!! Woah! And apparently, 2 couples were flown in from Melbourne! :O After all the entertainment, it was bouquet catching.. Hmn! At first there was NO ONE willing to go up. It can be quite intimidating I have to say! After all, the room is so vast and you feel sooooo tiny in the middle of the dance floor! So I dragged Anne (other 'single' girl on my table) and we went up.. Then soon enough, others followed suit. We all lined up and we just said, let's just all go for it. But the bouquet was thrown too nicely and it landed in the hand of another young lady. When we returned to our table, our boys all had a relieved look on their faces haha =P
THEN it was time to see the couple off to their honeymoon. Everyone were given a confetti stick and party poppers, we all lined up along side the red carpet and formed a tunnel. The couple walked through as we poppd and shook the confetti sticks. It was such a nice image, damn I didn't manage to take any photos =(
It was a nice night.. and of course being at Burswood, we were given vouchers to go to the casino! We won $2.50 on Money Whel but lost it in the next game. Oh well!! Ohhh ahah It felt really cool to go into the casino all dressed up because I've seen so many people do that.. you know, in their ball dresses etc. And you can feel people looking at ya! =P Annnnd, there were THREE other weddings going on in Burswood! One sign said "Welcome to the Wedding Reception of Stacey and Elaine". Riiiigggghhhttt!!! I'm sure it's a typo because we know it's a guy and girl coz we ran into someone Alex knows who was going to that wedding. But that was worth a laugh =)Didn't get to do proper photo with Alex.. such a shame because we both looked smashing (to be modest haha) So just took self-portraits.. and I said do a silly photo.. He DID but he was too quick for the camera.. *sigh* So I ended up looking silly by myelf.
