Unfortunately, spent most of my Oz day on the plane =( Anyways, shouldn't complain coz I got a trip to Auckland, NZ! =P
Was actually a bit stressed prior to leaving because had to prepare for new staff joining us as well as preparing for the trip to NZ office. Can't make the boss feel like he's wasted money by taking me to NZ right!? =P I also had to finish a 5% assignment before I left but that was good, only took 2 hours! hehe
The minute I boarded the plane, I slept.. and I slept most of the way to Auckland, except for the 2 hours watching movie (The Guardian). We landed about 5.30am and thank goodness boss said we can go into office about 10am so had a little nap. The bed was sooo comfy! Auckland was humid!!! I was sweating and the NZ office had NO air conditioning, so it was all naturale.. NOT GOOD!!! Nonetheless, the office is sooo nice! Very clean and "posh". More office like than our Perth office =P
The NZ trip was 4 days full of talking and listening and nutting things out. But there are a LOT of catch up work to do afterwards when I get back into the office. And the NZ trip was also full of eating!! We literally eat from morning til night, and a lot of boozing! My poor liver saying "ouch".We get our breakfast and lunch at this Colombus cafe that is near the office. Very very nice! The coffee is a bit burnt though... But their breakfast man.. WOAHZER. I had to take a picture.. First day for breakfast I ordered French Toast with Banana Fritters and bacon.. SOOO delicious but so sweet at the same time. I feel my cholesterol and fat content rising every minute haha

First night, my work mate brought us to a restaurant near her house. The place looks out to the ocean and it was so amazing. Auckland is apparently surrounded by volcanoes.. all dead of course. So amazing
Next day for dinner, we went over the bridge.. to the OTHER side of Auckland. Auckland is separated by a bridge and of course there will be so snobbing from one side to the other hehe. I tried to take a few snaps as we were crossing the bridge
The area we went to, it felt very much like Subiaco. A lot of units/townhouses and A LOT of pubs hehe
The place we went to with boss's HK friends (they are South Africans who lived in HK for over 20 years) was quite nice. It's called "Aubergine". The service was REALLY REALLY good. The only thing was, they tried to charge us TWICE! Tsk tsk! My boss signed before his friend could stop him so the restaurant gave us cash back. So weird.. ANYWAY, we were about to get in the car to head back to hotel. Then.. workmate's car wouldn't start!!!! Doh!!! So she joined up our equivalent of RAC and then boss & I took the taxi home. It was good to be in the car with boss coz could hear about his glory days.. very intriguing!!! It's so amazing what he's been through! We also got to hear how he and the mrs boss got together hehe Very funny! =) ANYWAY, the taxi driver didn't know where he was going!!! He took us over the bridge and then asked.. where is your hotel!? I gave him the card and then he stopped on the road side to search on his GPS. My boss was furious and he kept on telling him that he should know where all hotels are coz it's his job! We eventually got to the hotel at 11.30 and we had to pay $70!!! When we were telling the locals our story, they said it usually only cost at most $45!! GRR!So that was the "fun" memory of NZ =P SOO many asians!! Especially Koreans! Last time I went to Auckland was 11 years ago with my family so I don't have much memory of it. I probably won't have much of it now.. except the office area haha
So the last night at Auckland we took customer out to dinner at Hammerhead. The place is another seafood restaurant (this is the most seafood I've ever had in 4 days). And it's obviously a poshier place coz it's very expensive and the food serving size has reduced haha But it was worth it I have to say. I tried the oyster and MmmMMm!! I've never dared to chew oysters coz of the taste. But these ones were beautiful!!!! I had snapper with risotto and that was delicious!! My back was to the view so I had to constantly turn around to look at the scenery. I also tried to take a night view but it was too blurry =( Think it was all the alcohol...

Finally left for home about 2.20pm. Was very excited.. but on the flight there were at least 20 kids! What the?!?! Soooo noisy!!! But I still managed to sleep haha I can just see Oppa's future, he'll hear the kids crying and I'll sleep right through it =POh, the in-flight entertainment was "The Queen". So good!! No wonder the main actress won Golden Globes, she was really good at portraying the queen, the speech, the aura and the charisma. I even cried in there :O
Got an SMS after I landed in Perth last night... best friend's flying off to Maritius that very night and she just smsed to say bye bye and catch up soon. Awwwwww... so envious and I can't believe she's married.. I STILL can't believe it!! *pinches self*
Ok... I'm all geared up for another year... Uni starts again on Monday and I have to start studying for exam on Sat. And mum's op is 7th Feb... *Sigh* Do hope that mum will be well soon... *Sniffles*
