Another Yr Older, Another Yr Wiser!

My best friend who got married recently celebrated her birthday over the weekend =) Still a spring chicken I say (just coz I am a couple of months older than she is!)

So we went to dinner at her fave restaurant in Freo (think it was called Pizzaeria Bella Roma) as it serves her fave spaghetti (Spaghetti Bella Roma). It was a very popular restaurant and we couldn't book. So we waited in queue (yes it was a rather long queue too) for a lil while. We got there about 7.45ish... and didn't sit down until 8.15.

I was meant to treat my friend.. buttttt the restaurant didn't accept credit card!!!!! Doh!!!!! We ordered 1 large pizza, 2 pasta and 1 chilli mussell (1kg!). It was bellissimo! The spaghetti was definitley as good as she made it out to be. It was simple, full of goodness.. and it wasn't too heavy either.. I want to go back and eat!!!! But I have to say, I think the Chilli Mussell could do a little bit more work =) The place we went to the night before with my parents Spaghi in South Perth had pretty good Chilli Mussells...the pasta was a bit questionable - I guess coz I ordered a cream sauce which was too heavy. My mum's octopus ink star-shaped pasta was nice though.

Anyway, back to my Sat night. Of course, I had to take some photos..
We were VERY full afterwards and a little bit full on red wine. They had some left over bottles of reds from their wedding so they brought one. I can't believe that we finished that bottle. I usually don't drink wine, particularly red wine. But the one they bought for the wedding was yummy, not too heavy or strong after taste.. My kinda drink haha The bottle was finished by mostly Oppa, her hubby and me, because my friend isn't much of a drinker. She says she sculls ahhaah She'll be good to take to parties haha So after that VERY full dinner, we opted for a walk around Freo so that we can stuff ourselves with dessert.

We went to this place called Amoro (??) and it had really nice ice cream, like Il Gelato. All these different flavours! But I wasn't in the mood for ice cream, more in the mood for coffee. Yes, coffee. I didn't have coffee for the past 4 days at work because I decided not to drink coffee at work. I used to drink 2-3 mugs (yes HUGE mugs) a day... not quality coffee either. Instant coffee. Also, coffee creates acidity in the body so.. yeah, I thought I better start being healthier.. drink more water and tea (Korean brown rice green tea). I can't quit coffee completely though.. coz the smell is just too good!!!! So I'm only social drinking haha Do I sound like an addict!? =)

Anyway, I ordered this drink... Buosino. Italian coffee with chocolate and cream, served with chocolate spoon!!!! I was sooo excited when I read that.. Oppa immediately commented that I'll definitely be taking photos. I couldn't disagree =P My friend took this photo.. of me savouring over this chocolate spoon - it was solid!! Totally made out of chocolate!
Then, I started stirring the coffee, the spoon was melting and it had this funny shape which we wanted to take a photo of... but alas, my friend was too slow with the shutter and the bit fell off..
It was a very nice night indeed. Laughed and chatted... learnt a few things from my friend who's really into investments. We also reminisced our Taiwan trip back then. For our 2 decade anniversary, might go to Japan/Korea.. Goawrsh, I better start saving up! ahha No, this time, it will definitely just be the TWO of us haha Mum is not going to be our saviour like last time.. because when we DO go, we'll be friggin 34! *panic*

Lovely weather, good company, great wine and food.. ahhhh what a nice way to spend a Sat night =)
