Happy Birthday Oppa~~

It was Oppa's birthday yesterday!! It took me a whole week to try to do something for Oppa - something that' different and he hasn't done before! It was blardy hard!! So was thinking Swing dancing? No classes just for one afternoon. Go-Karting, but that was REALLY expensive. Then bowling? Nah, done it before. Argh! What to do!? So I couldn't help but called Oppa...

He thought of the Freo Prison tunnel tour. I thought oooh but eeeee at the same time! It wasn't cheap either! But I thought it's only once in a life time and it's for Oppa's birthday. So booked and also booked for the Left Bank for dinner.

We got there about 2.30 and signed our life away on the safety agreement thing and we suited up.... Look at Oppa, all excited about wearing this kinda lab suit.
It was actually quite hot to be wearing this suit under ground. The temperature was like 20 degrees celcius but very humid! Anyway, we got over it haha We got a history of the tunnel and why it was built. Not for escaping haha It was really for the fresh water underneath. It helped to allow Freo town to flourish because it was filled with disease due to bad water source and contamination.

It wasn't too bad to be underground. I was really about seeing weird insects or funny things down there but phew, no. ahha No living things can survive down there. We were on the tour by ourselves (bonus!) and the guide was really funny. She fooled me by saying there were snakes and they also found crocodiles etc. I freaked and she laughed. I am very gullible I told her! She's fooled me quited a few times!

The funniest thing was we were rowing our boats in the wet sections of the tunnel (yes! just like what you saw in The Amazing Race!). Oppa was right behind me and I was trying to row myself around a corner. However, I wasn't moving! I rowed and rowed, grabbed onto the walls to push meself.. was panicking a little bit coz the guide was going further and further away! The tunnel was pitch dark, nothing but a few lights and our torch on the helmet. It was about 10 seconds later Oppa said "err.... Yan, look". I turned around and he was holding onto my boat. Grrrrrrrrr! He laughed so hard..

So after 2 and a bit hours later, we merged from the ground and got this pic of us in our daggy outfit. The safety feature was sooooo amazing. Felt safe about climbing up & down the ladder
We were passing the helmets and the life jackets back to the guide, we heard a "ping" then I heard Oppa call out "Yan! Look!". D'oh! I dropped our locker key =( Luckily, it landed just less than 1 metre below us ahha Oppa was able to retrieve it...
A bit dark, but shows my hero =) After we've changed into our dinner clothes, we quickly took a shot of us outside the prison. Amazing, I've been here for like 17 years but I never did a tour at the prison. I only knew of the round house!! But that place has an interesting history, even if it was short. Not like thousands of years like in Europe.
We were famished after the tour (a lot of exercise!) so we walked around town and bought packet of chips. That was the yummiest ever! We finished it within 2 minutes... and Oppa burnt his mouth roof ahha
Dinner at Left Bank was noice! We had outdoor seating but it wasn't too hot. And then we ordered a Seafood Platter + Fillet + Kilpatrick. Yummo! But it was too much! I think it was the chips! The seafood was nice and so was the steak.. oysters just undescribable. However, I didn't fancy the chilli mussells. Just wasn't as nice as Young Joes or Uncle Vinny's... mmmm

After dinner we went over to Es & Nam's for a quick catch up. It was nostalgic coz I spent a lot of time over there during my single days haha It was fun and their house is so warm and cozy. Homely. We chatted until 11.30, mostly about wedding preparation. I can't wait to attend! =) Gav came as well, good to see him in person and not only on MSN haha

Sunday was just a day of relaxation. But managed to get grocery shopping done. J's friend came over and she brought over her little doggies. SOOO cute. I was sleeping and all I could hear was the "ding ding ding" and the paws running on the tiles. So cute. Then I went to get the washings off the line, thennnnnn the 2 little things ran outside the house through our side fence!
Through that little gap! They went out across the road and over to our neighbour's front yard! INSIDE the fence! Oh my gawd.. I was rather worried coz of traffic, luckily there weren't any! Here are some pics of the little devils...

I hope Oppa had a good time on his birthday. Certainly a memorable one =) Muah!
