La Vie En Rose

Oh My Goodness..

Came home not too long ago from Innaloo. Yes.. Innaloo. And why were we up there?? (to me it's woop woop land haha). Anyway.. cut the long story short.

My friend gave me a link to get free tickets to watch La Vie en Rose.
Biography of the famous French singer: Edith Piaf.
It was special preview for Qantas members @ Greater Union. So rushed home from work coz left late (that's another story!)... anxiously drove there thinking that we won't get good seats. Little did we know, we got there and the theatre was empty. Granted that the movie started at 6.45 and we were there by 6. But gawrsh, I had a sinking feeling.... do Perthlings don't have culture??? But by 6.30, the cinema started to fill up.. *phew* There's still hope =)

ANYWAY.... I was thinking, oh crap it's a French film.. how are my parents going to understand?? But, music has no boundaries. We all loved it. I cried..... =( When she sang "Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien"... the waterworks started. Because she had such a tragic life... Rough childhood, lost her greatest love to plane crash, suffered bad health. Just.. so tough. This song was written towards the end of her life and when she sang it.. it just took over all my emotions.. Haven't cried like that.. EVER! Usually I cry when I see someone die or someone break up etc.. but this is the first time when I cried because of the music... Woa...

Oh... just a quick one about what happened at work today. About 3.30pm, I started to smell something burning. At first I panicked coz I thought it was my laptop but I sniffed around but couldn't pin point the location. And then work mates started walking around saying something's burning. We thought ok it could be next door.. so just got back to work. Few seconds later.. loud high pitch sound started. I thought immediately, that sounds familiar! Sh*t! It's the UPS next to the server!! We went there and holy smokes! Literally!!! We quickly turned off all powers.. and thank goodness the servers were ok. It was just the UPS. So quickly bought a new UPS (almost $400!!) and left the server running..... Gawrsh. A lot of things to clean up tomorrow! At least there is an office to return to tomorrow!! =P

Anyway, back to uni work..
