HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEARRRR~~
How did everyone spend their Chinese New Year?? Mum's operation went fine and she came home for Chinese New Years Eve dinner =) That was bonus... Even though it was a last minute organisation and we had take out (which is the way how I like it haha), it was still very nice =)
Doesn't look yummy? My sis & I rushed around to 3 different restaurants to order take away. Luckily, we got there about 4.30ish and we got in before the crowds. *phew* So we had our CNY eve dinner together at home.. in front of tele. haha Mum couldn't sit up right coz of the wound so we gathered around the sofa.
Whilst having dinner, our little house guest was whining because she wanted in on the yummy food. My dad has a soft spot for her so he gave her some meat.. we all shook our heads but hey, she's his princess. I reckon, he loves her more than he loves us! My dad will be heart broken when her owners come back from holidays.
Hm.. Maybe we should seriously consider getting a dog of our own! But they are so much work, and the vet bills will be soooooo much!
Anyway, this is the year when I felt I need to start giving back to my parents. Since last year, although on a meager salary, I still try to pay for things. Like buying grocery or buy meals without getting money from mum hehe And I also decided it's about time I gave them red packets for CNY!! haha They were pleasantly surprised. I also got one from them =P I decided to give Judy-san one as well because didn't want her to feel left out. She was happy that she got some moolah even if it's little amount =P I guess that's how I show my love. Giving things to my family.
Ever since mum's illness, I think I've been trained to take care of people and not be so grossed out. But I am very lucky (and very thankful) that mum is a strong little lady and she can put up with so much pain and that she recovers so quickly. Because of mum's good recovery, I didn't have to really go through too much of the gory things.
Well, I'm just thankful that mum's made it safely through the big operation. I am thankful that mum was able to spend CNY at home with us. I am sure that mum will be cancer-free soon so that mum can do whatever she wants to do. Oh, and we all can travel together as a family again =)
